Zewail City of Science and Technology hosted a huge celebration on Friday, 19 April, in honor of Zewail City Friends (ZCF) who reached the one million fans milestone on their official Facebook Page.
Dr. Sameh Ali, director of the Center for Aging and Associated Diseases (CAAD), was invited to deliver a lecture on Wednesday, 17 April, at Cairo University’s Science Day titled “Research: Towards a better Future!”. The event was organized by the university’s Faculty of Physical Therapy, with the aim of increasing students and faculty awareness and understanding of the importance of research to clinicians.
Dr. Sameh Ali, director of Zewail City’s Center for Aging and Associated Diseases, has been invited to deliver a talk at Experimental Biology (EB) 2013, scheduled to be held from 20- 24 April in Boston, USA. EB is the world's largest meeting of scientists and researchers in the fields of anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, nutrition, and pharmacology. The meeting will include over 20,000 attendees.
Zewail City of Science and Technology will be hosting the First Annual Biomedical Sciences Symposium in cooperation with Al-Razi Society for Self Development (ASSD) on 1-2 April 2013. The symposium will be held at the City’s Campus in Sheikh Zayed District, 6th of October City.

Dr. Nagwa El-Badri, the Chair of Biomedical Sciences at The University of Science and technology, successfully secured a grant of LE10 million from STDF (the Science and Technology Development Fund) to establish a Center of Excellence for Stem Cell Research and Regenerative Medicine at Zewail City.. The center will provide state of the art equipment and facilities to train students and young scientist in the field of stem cell research. The award also provides for a cord blood and tissue bank facility to be established at collaborating institute, Assiut University
Zewail City of Science and Technology hosted a meeting on 20 March, with a number of heads, deputy heads, deans and representatives of various public and private Egyptian universities to discuss potential scientific collaboration.
In an unprecedented step, Zewail City of Science and Technology opened its doors to dozens of high schools students from Cairo, Giza and Dakahlia Governorates.
Dr. Sherif Sedky, The University of Science and Technology's Founding Provost, will meet with a delegation from the American University in Cairo (AUC), headed by AUC President Dr. Lisa Anderson, on Sunday, 10 March 2013. During the meeting, the two parties will discuss possible areas of collaborations between the two entities in the near future.
