Description

The successful candidate will be required to perform the following duties:

  • Conduct molecular and cell biology experiments
  • Analyze laboratory results for genetic research with emphasis on Next Generation Sequencing Data
  • Work independently and as part of the team
  • Sign off medical reports of patients’ data analyses based on acquired licensing and qualifications
  • Record and archive laboratory results and patients’ records and test results. 
  • Assist with implementation of quality control and assurance measures, and lab certification and accreditation activities.
  • Work closely with Center of Genomics team to conduct research projects, analyze the data and write project reports and publications.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) and/or a Master or Ph.D degree in a relevant field.
  • Clinical Geneticist Board Certification is preferable but eligibility to apply for the certification can also be considered
  • Biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology or related fields

Skills

  • A medical degree in life sciences (genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, etc.) with background of genetics and bioinformatic analyses of next generation sequencing data.
  • Prior experience in analyzing next generation sequencing data
  • Prior experience in field of genomic stability is a plus but not essential
  • Prior exposure to cell biology and analyses of genetic/hereditary conditions
  • Proven ability to determine medical implication of genomic variants and ability to generate profile for genomic mutations. 
  • Evidence of publication in high quality journals
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a diverse team and strong documentation skills.
