Qualifications and Courses |
Applicants should hold a PhD in Biomedical Science or a closely related field, together with several years of research experience in protein and/or nucleic acid structure using X-ray crystallography, NMR, Cryo-EM, molecular dynamics or related methods. Some experience in teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students in related courses is preferred. Applicants should show their proficiency to teach the following courses:
The Appointee will be the instructor the full undergraduate course, which will include a theoretical and practical component. The latter may include a computational component using Linux and open source software, preferably implemented on real life data from biophysical measurements. Facilities and materials for a limited number of wet laboratory-based sessions are also available. The course should include a component dedicated to the principles underlying methods use for high resolution structure determination, a component dedicated to descriptive analysis of biomolecular structure-function relations, and a component focused on physical determinants of biomolecular folding.
The graduate course will be team taught with full time faculty. |
