Dr. Nagwa El-Badri lectures at symposium on cancer research

Dr. Nagwa El-Badri, director of the Center of Excellence for Stem Cell Research and Regenerative Medicine (CESCRM) at Zewail City, has been invited to give a talk at the 1st National Symposium for Centers of Excellence in Cancer Research at Tanta University on February 24, 2014.

El-Badri’s presentation will highlight the CESCRM objectives, goals and research projects. The center includes a facility for stem cell research and education and a human umbilical cord blood stem cell bank. “ implements a research-based education that contributes to the advancement of the discipline of stem cell research and biomedical science research at-large,” says El-Badri. The center will arrange workshops and courses for hands-on training for junior researchers and scientists to develop their skills in the field.

The symposium is the first of its kind to showcase all the centers of excellence given grants this year by the Science and Technology Development Fund, and aims to promote and enhance collaboration between centers.
