Zewail City hosts international conference on mathematics and information science

Zewail City of Science and Technology hosted the 4th International Conference in Mathematics and Information Science (ICMIS) on Thursday, February 5, 2015 in collaboration with IEEE Zewail City, the African Academy of Sciences, and the Egyptian Mathematical Society.

The goal of the conference is to bring together top scientists and technologists in the fields of mathematics and information technology to showcase their latest research findings and to form inter-disciplinary connections among participants. The conference also aims to highlight the importance of research and development in technologies and encourage research collaborations.

As conference Chairman, Mahmoud Abdel-Aty; professor of mathematics and information science, inaugurated the three-day conference in the presence of Prof. Aderemi Kuku, president of the African Academy of Sciences, and Dr. Mohamed Fahmy, general secretary of the Egyptian Mathematical Society.

With 250 participants, the conference featured keynote speakers from different countries who tackled various topics, such as, applied mathematics, computer science, quantum computer, mathematical modeling , and quantum computation and information.
