Zewail City students honored during Microbiology Research Day

The University of Science and Technology organized Microbiology Research Day on January 1, 2015 and honored 15 undergraduate students for their outstanding research projects. The honors were presented by Dr. Ayman El-Shibiny, associate professor of biology. The event was organized by the microbiology club and was held as an activity of the biomedical sciences program.  

The event featured an invited talk by Dr. Tarek El-Araby, assistant professor of biology at Ain Shams University.

The students’ projects were a result of the program’s inquiry-based science education that highlights the importance of the research journey from initial idea to final conclusion.

This year’s first place awards went to Bassma Yasseen, Bishoy Wadie, Sara Alaa, Reham Reda, Mahmoud Bassuoni and Moaaz Habashy. Second place awards went to Ahmed El-Kashif, Nada El-Kholy, Toka Hussein and Yasmine Radwan. Third place awards were given to Dalia Tarek, Islam Ezzat, Aya Tarek, Saif Al-Din Al-Mofty and Ahmed Rizk.
