Description

The Program of PEU at University of Science and Technology, Zewail City, has an opening for a full-time faculty position at an Assistant or Associate Professor Level in the field of Astrophysics. Fall 2020

The university has a modern observatory with 16 inch computerized MEADE LX200 ACF telescope, a VIXEN ED115 S/SXD2, and a 100 mm LUNT Hydrogen-Alpha telescope.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field at the time of application.
• Record of research in particle physics, nuclear physics or astrophysics supported by peer-reviewed publications.
• Demonstrated potential and commitment to excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Demonstrated potential for developing and sustaining an externally funded research program involving students leading to publications.
• Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population.
• Postdoctoral research experience.
• Prior teaching experience at the university level with evidence of teaching effectiveness.
• Research focus in contemporary areas in particle physics.
• Significant record of publications in refereed journals.
• Evidence of obtaining extramural grants.
• Experience in engaging undergraduate and graduate students in research
